Heritage UMC mission teams reach out to the community in service and love. As the hands and feet of Jesus, our teams turn service into action. Donations to mission projects can be made through Heritage UMC (make a memo on your donation specifying mission).
Park View Community Mission
This ministry feeds hundreds of people each week, and Heritage members serve on the fourth Saturday of each month. Other ways to serve: Food for Families Distribution (Thursday: 11 a.m.-1 p.m.; Saturday: 11 a.m.-1 p.m.); Wednesday Night Meal (4:30-7 p.m.). Contact: Glenda Fort (434) 426-0650.
Churches for Urban Ministry
Heritage members take part in a tutoring program for elementary students every Monday and Wednesday afternoon. This ministry also runs a food pantry, mentoring program, community garden and summer camp. Contact: Larry and Alice Fordham
Meals on Wheels
Heritage members are part of this national organization dedicated to addressing senior hunger and isolation. Volunteers deliver meals to neighbors in the community. Contact: HUMC Church Office
